Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the project timeline?

The project is segmented into three parts. The first phase is the Mānoa Campus: Framework for the Future Plan, which has begun and will continue until November 2018. The second phase, the Long Range Development Plan will begin in October 2018 until August 2019. The third phase, which includes an Environmental Assessment and a Planned Review Use will take place from  June 2019 to  March 2020.

What is the first phase of the project?

The first phase of the project is the Mānoa Campus: Framework for the Future Plan. This phase consists of (1) developing goals, objectives and guiding principles that align with the university's core values to help shape the overall campus plan, (2) developing physical planning strategies that build on quantitative assessments of campus space use, and (3) defining and prioritizing key projects that will be outcome-specific and occur within zones throughout the campus.

How can campus community members play a role in this project?

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is committed to ensuring that the campus plan is created in close-collaboration with the campus community. To ensure that this commitment is met, input from town halls will be used, and surveys and feedback tools are being developed to serve as platforms for engagement. To see current feedback tools, see page titled 'Feedback Forum'.
